Collection: Capsule 25.03
Usually, it’s the slubby weave of the canvas we use to roll out the slabs that finds its way onto the surface of our pieces. A subtle texture that gives the glaze something to hold on to and the piece a tactile feel in the hand. It’s quiet, which has always felt right with our forms.
But our recent foray into florals got us thinking: are we brave enough to be a bit bolder? Could we play with pattern? Questions that spurred an exceptional internet spiral, beginning with Princess Diana dressed in a Laura Ashley vision and ending with the acquisition of several antique block rollers from flea markets around the studio.
Capsule 25.03 is a collection in two parts. The first is a product of our roller explorations, the flat surfaces of trays and lamps imprinted with the suggestion of something more complex. The second is shaped by the rollers’ floral forms. Table lamps and vessels that are rounded, undulating, and organic. Together, they are a take on pattern that’s suited to our orderly sensibilities.
